Yesterday (2 Jan) the Danish police shot a fellow with an axe (and a knife) helping cartoonist Kurt Westergaard and Westergaard's five year old grand-daughter put a new window in the door to their "safe room".
In 2005, the Danish cartoonist caused riots all over the Islamic world in 2005 after a cartoon of his was published depicting Mohammed wearing a turban in the shape of a bomb. Only a crazy old Dane could ever imagine the horrible (and blasphemous!) concept that deeply religious people might attempt to kill people with whom they don't agree. What nonsense, eh? Deeply religious people would never do such a thing. By the way, the innate psychological violence of the Dane is painfully obvious even in Victor Borge's (whose birthday it is today, 3 Jan) terrifying explanation of audible punctuation.
