Wee Words

There never seems to be enough hours in the day when one is a religious leader. Although we can't (successfully) command the sun and moon to stand still in the sky, we do what we can with what we are allotted.

Happily our dear Cousin Clamakers St. Bunbury is ever so much better. He's even back to writing huffy letters to the editor, so we KNOW he's much better. Healing, not heeling seems to be the order of his day.

Brother Saturnillus has been on the wagon since his Xmas Revels, although he's discovered what he claims is a low-fat ice cream sandwich and has been downing them nearly as fast as his dreaded wassail. It's all very well to be off the wagon, but our dear brother needs to climb back on his bicycle and pedal those pounds away!

Sister Antiphilia has been, dare we say it, lost in a haze of purest adoration. She's been watching Rachel Madow and, well, she's been watching her non-stop. Burning up the hours on youtube. Sister has always been Very Well Informed – but now she's picking up Ms. Madow's geeky sense of humor about it all, which makes for a very pleasant change around here at the vestry.

Dr. Hall has been all tense and obsessed with The Final Days. Preparing for finals, administering them and then grading them. No one, except her students, has heard even a monosyllabic word from her in weeks.

Brother Oral Eighnell, our Chief of Spiritual Protocology, continues to study the problem of heterosexual clergy. We haven't actually spoken with him personally about how things are going, but receipts found in his expenses file suggest that he is getting to the bottom of the crisis by eating an amazing number of working dinners at excellent restaurants.

Lately we have been much involved in an important writing project for a dear friend. He's written a rather snarky (his word, not ours) piece of satire. A novel. When our religious duties allowed, we've been editing it for him. At the end of the day, we are so tired of words that we haven't been able to put any down of our own. Until the wee hours this morning. Hence the title of this post.
